Turning Paper Scraps Into Doily Die Cuts

Turning Paper Scraps Into Doily Die Cuts

Most days, logging off a little doesn’t mean starting a big, complicated project. Sometimes it just means sitting down with the scraps already on your desk and making something simple.

Lately, I’ve been turning my paper scraps into doily die cuts – and I’m officially obsessed.

I am an affiliate - if you click on any link on this website and make a purchase I may receive a tiny commission. Thank you for supporting my work.

I bought a set of doily dies that come in four different designs, and they cut so clean every single time. Even the tiniest patterned pieces that feel too small to save suddenly have purpose. I run them through my die-cut machine and out comes the most delicate, lacy little doily – no measuring, no overthinking, just the quiet rhythm of making.

And here’s the best part: I don’t always use them right away.

Sometimes logging off a little is just making something to use later. These doilies get tucked into a bowl on my desk until I add them to happy mail, scrapbook spreads, or journal pages. They’re ready when inspiration hits – which means future me has one less excuse to scroll and one more reason to create.

It’s simple. It’s low-pressure. It’s using what you already have.

And it’s proof that “make something” doesn’t have to mean “make a masterpiece.” Sometimes it just means: cut the scraps into something beautiful and call it a win.

After a time she heard a little pattering of feet in the distance, and she hastily dried her eyes to see what was coming. It was the White Rabbit returning, splendidly dressed, with a pair of white kid gloves.
