Crochet Car Coasters

Crochet Car Coasters

No, you really don’t need a pattern for these crochet car coasters, but I’m hoping just seeing them will inspire you to create some yourself for your own car or family and friends. They’re round cotton circles, so really, you can use them for anything you need a round cotton circle for – for me, that also means facial cleaning pads and a little bigger ones if I want to use them for scrubbing.

As I mentioned in my tiktok video, I don’t really need crochet car coasters – I rarely drive and I’m not coordinated enough to sip a drink while a cruise (crawl) down the road, but I think when you get in my car it should be obvious that I crochet.

I don’t really want a steering wheel cover, but I do think that something crochet dangling from my mirror and a couple of nice crochet car coasters is enough to say “crazy crochet lady”. Not that anyone really rides around in my car anyway outside of my husband (and believe me, he knows I crochet) and my mom (and she’s the one who taught me)! But still, I want to represent, so here we go.

Crochet Car Coasters Step – By – Step

Materials

  • Scraps of Cotton yarn

Tools

  • 4.5mm crochet hook

Instructions

  1. Create a magic circle, chain 1
  2. 11 DC in magic circle, Slip Stitch into the top of the first DC
  3. Chain 2
  4. 2 DC in each stitch around, Slip Stitch, Fasten off

I made a couple of sets of these crochet coasters so that I can change them out if needed but the best part is that we used cotton yarn so they’re easy to wash and reuse over and over again unlike regular hard coasters that suffer damage and staining over time. Next up is something to dangle from my rearview mirror – fingers crossed I can find a great quick pattern because I’ve been on a quick crochet kick lately

After a time she heard a little pattering of feet in the distance, and she hastily dried her eyes to see what was coming. It was the White Rabbit returning, splendidly dressed, with a pair of white kid gloves.
